CAMPOS Cafecito (Coffee Break): Discussing Diversity and Inclusion
Davis, CA

The UC Davis ADVANCE Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Science (CAMPOS) Initiative was pleased to host a Cafecito (coffee break) discussion on February 1, 2016 on Diversity and Inclusion.

For the past year, the Strategic Planning Committee on Diversity and Inclusion has examined the work that has taken place on campus and in the greater community to make UC Davis an institution that values and respects the principles of human equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Committee is charged with developing a strategic plan that tangibly moves the university towards its goal of inclusive excellence as an institution of higher education.

This Cafecito discussion helped the committee to identify key issues of concern to faculty and post-doctoral fellows, and explore opportunities for improving our campus climate. The discussion focused on the overall theme of diversity and inclusion at UC Davis, with an emphasis on (1) Pipeline, Recruitment, & Retention; (2) Climate; (3) Research, Teaching, and Public Service; and (4) Institutional Commitment, Policies, & Practices.
