UC Davis ADVANCE members have recently been recognized with awards and in the news for their incredible talents and research.

Chancellor Katehi featured in the AWIS magazine
Chancellor Katehi, UC Davis ADVANCE Principal Investigator, was featured on the cover of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) Magazine Spring 2015 Volume 46 Edition 1, and in the section “Women and Leadership: How Do Women in STEM Define Leadership.” 

Ricardo Castro earns CALCON 2015 James J. Christensen award
Congratulations to Ricardo Castro, UC Davis ADVANCE Policy and Practices Review Initiative Committee Member, on winning the prestigious 2015 James J. Christensen Award from the North American Calorimetry Conference (CALCON) for his outstanding innovative contributions to the development and use of calorimetric instrumentation: the science of measuring the heat developed during a mechanical, electrical or chemical reaction, and of calculating the heat capacity of materials.

Anna La Torre
Assistant Professor of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy. Dr. La Torre combines molecular and cellular biology, stem cells, and mouse studies to study neuronal development.
