Remarks from UC Davis Faculty Who Benefitted from NCFDD Faculty Success Program

Through the partial funding by the University of California Office of the President and UC Davis ADVANCE, several UC Davis faculty participated in the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity Faculty Success Program, an intense 15-week boot-camp program designed to improve research productivity and work-life balance.

The Faculty Success Program provided me with important insight and methods to improve productivity in research and grant writing. The methods helped me to manage my time this quarter with a class of >500 students, my research group of 10 PhD students, and successfully submit grant proposals to NSF, DOE and CEC.  The resources provided through UC Davis’ NCFDD institutional membership are great resources and I encourage more students and faculty on campus to take advantage of themAnnaliese Franz, Associate Professor of Chemistry

It was a great experience to be held accountable both for writing/researching everyday and taking care of myself in a sustainable way. I wrote everyday (Monday-Friday) a bit over 90% of this quarter. I am happy to report that I made significant progress on my writing projects. Since UC Davis is an Institutional Member of the NCFDD I will continue to participate in the Faculty Success Program as an alumni at no additional cost. Susy Zepeda, Assistant Professor of Chicana and Chicano Studies
