Carol Erickson
UC Davis ADVANCE Mentorship and Networking Initiative Co-Director, Distinguished Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology

Carol Erickson is a Distinguished Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology at UC Davis. Dr. Erickson’s research focuses on the development of the avian trunk neural crest, with a particular interested in the mechanisms that segregate the neural crest lineage from the neural epithelium, the mechanisms that guide specific neural crest lineages along different migratory pathways, and the control of neural crest cell differentiation.

Dr. Erickson was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa in 1971, Research Career Development Award (NIH) from 1983-1988, and she was awarded as an Elected Fellow by AAAS in 2001. Dr. Erickson received her PhD in Cell Biology from Yale University in 1976, and is a member of the Society for Developmental Biology, Society for Cell Biology, and the American Society for the Advancement of Science.
