Dr. Rebecca R. Hernandez is Assistant Professor in the Department of Land, Air, and Water Resources. Dr. Hernandez earned her Ph.D. in Earth System Science from Stanford University, a M.S. in Biological Science from CSUF, and earned a degree in Geography from UCLA. Her research foci includes the study of ecology, energy, and global environmental change particularly in water-limited ecosystems and human environments. Her research has been published in Nature Climate Change, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Environmental Science & Technology, and Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews and covered in the media by The Washington Post, Huffington Post, National Geographic, and Scientific American. She is a proud graduate of the community college system and first in her family to graduate with a bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree.
