Social Media & STEM Research

UC Davis Student Community Center, Multipurpose Room

Join the discussion of the value, pitfalls, and ways to use social media for research. A panel of STEM researchers who advocate the use of social media to facilitate the scientific inquiry and open access to scientific knowledge will present examples of how they use various types of social media (blogs, twitter, open lab notes, etc.) and their perspectives on open access journals and other vehicles for the broad dissemination of scientific tools and discovery. The panelists will lead a discussion of the issues with audience members.
